Challenge

The last-mile frontline health staff came from all over the globe– Western Europe, Central Africa, Asia, and the Gulf. There was a growing need for the health staff to bring their stories and context to life to be more relatable to their relevant communities.

Approach

Partnering with John Hopkins Center for Communications Programs and UNICEF, White Rice designed a comprehensive global last-mile Frontline Health Staff Training Package on interpersonal communication skills. This global workforce provided immunizations to the most remote areas of the globe and encompassed a range of diverse social and cultural contexts.

The result of this intervention was a six part animated series. Each video was originally made in English and translated to Arabic, French, and Spanish. The entire production process, storylines, plots, and storyboards, were followed by multiple rounds of co-creation, rapid prototyping, testing and iteration.

Impact

The complete package is helping train over 250,000 front line workers globally. The last mile effort aims to provide immunization services to even the most remote areas until no patient is out of reach.
